The 2014 Golden Globe Awards

Posted by mike on January 13, 2014

The 2014 Golden Globe Awards got off to an interesting start!  Early in the day, the fire department had to be called because the red carpet area was flooded.  With SEWAGE!!!  But worries disappeared once hosts Amy Poehler and Tina Fey took the stage.  Much to the surprise of no one, the two former SNL starlets took several playful jabs at just about everybody in the room.

Highlights from the night included Cate Blanchette trading jabs with Bono from U2, Elisabeth Moss trying (and failing twice) to flip the bird to E!’s mini-cam, Jacqueline Bisset’s ramble-speech, and the teleprompter mess-up when Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie were introducing a clip of “The Wolf of Wall Street”.

All in all, the Golden Globes were exactly what they were supposed to be.  Celebrities from film and TV drinking too much wine and turning the night into a PG-13 version of a Comedy Central roast.
